Champadevi is one of the most rewarding half-day hikes near Kathmandu, offering a forested ridge walk culminating in sweeping 360-degree views of the entire Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan range. On clear days, peaks from Langtang and Ganesh Himal to Manaslu and Annapurna are visible.
The trail climbs steeply through mixed rhododendron and pine forest from Pharping/Hattiban and follows a scenic ridgeline to the summit at 2,285m. A small shrine dedicated to Goddess Champadevi sits at the top. The hike is popular with Kathmandu residents on weekends and is accessible year-round, though views are best in autumn and spring.
The trailhead at Hattiban is accessible from Pharping in southwest Kathmandu Valley, about 45 minutes by car from the city center.
