Daman offers what many consider the single most comprehensive Himalayan panorama in Nepal, encompassing eight of the world's fourteen 8,000-meter peaks in a single sweep stretching over 300 km from Dhaulagiri in the west to Everest in the east.
The viewpoint tower sits at 2,322m on the Tribhuvan Highway ridge (the old Kathmandu-Hetauda road) and is equipped with identification boards. Despite its superlative views, Daman sees very few tourists due to its location on the less-traveled old highway, about 80 km southwest of Kathmandu.
The walk from the main road to the viewpoint tower is short and easy, making this accessible to all fitness levels. It can be combined with a drive along the scenic Tribhuvan Highway.
