Saraswati Kunda is one of the named lakes of the Gosaikunda basin in Langtang National Park, sitting just below the main Gosaikunda lake at roughly 4,350 metres. It is dedicated to Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, and learning, and is traditionally the first of the holy kunda that pilgrims encounter as they climb the ridge from Lauribina.
Though modest in size, the lake is an integral stop on the Janai Purnima pilgrimage circuit. Walkers pause here to offer prayers before continuing past Bhairav Kunda to Gosaikunda itself. The setting is austere and beautiful — a dark mirror of water held in a bowl of glacier-scoured rock, often rimmed with ice well into the trekking season.
Saraswati Kunda is visited as part of the Gosaikunda trek rather than as a standalone destination; it lies about 20 minutes' walk below the main lake and its lodges.
