Himalayan Hash House Harriers Run
Kathmandu's Saturday-afternoon hash: follow a paper trail through the valley, then join the social.
The Himalayan Hash House Harriers have met almost every Saturday since 1979, and the run count is past 2,500. A "hare" lays a paper trail in the morning at a different spot around the valley, and in the afternoon the pack follows it, mostly off-road, for about an hour and a half to two hours. You can run it or walk it. Afterwards there is a social circle, which is as much the point as the trail. It is a mixed group of Nepalis and foreigners, and newcomers are welcome. The site changes each week and is posted on the club's "hareline" with directions and a map, so check it before you go.
