Pokhara Tandem Paragliding
Fly from the Sarangkot ridge over Phewa Lake with Annapurna views on clear mornings.
Pokhara tandem paragliding is the country's signature air activity — a 20–30 minute flight from the Sarangkot ridge (1,592m) down to the Phewa Lake shore, with the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Dhaulagiri filling the horizon on clear days. The pilot handles all controls; passengers sit in a harness and take in the views. No experience is needed. Flights typically launch between 9 AM and 2 PM when thermals are active enough for a smooth ride. The season runs from September through May, with October–November and March–April offering the clearest mountain views. Monsoon months (June–August) are closed. Morning flights have better visibility; afternoon haze can obscure peaks at lower elevations. Operators are based in Pokhara Lakeside, and most offer hotel pickup plus transport to the Sarangkot launch site. GoPro photos and videos are usually included or available for a small extra fee. Book a day ahead; same-day slots depend on weather and pilot availability. Weight limits vary by operator but are typically 100–110 kg maximum.
