Devghat is one of Nepal's important river-confluence pilgrimage sites, located near Bharatpur and Narayanghat in Chitwan. Pilgrims come to the meeting point of the Kali Gandaki and Trishuli rivers, which flow onward as the Narayani, for ritual bathing, offerings, and temple visits. The surrounding area contains shrines, temples, ashrams, and old-age homes, and is closely associated with Hindu river-confluence practice. Devghat becomes especially active during Makar Sankranti in January, when pilgrims from Nepal and adjoining India gather for ritual baths and worship.
Use Bharatpur or Narayanghat as the practical access base. Local minibuses, tempos, taxis, and hired vehicles connect the town area with Devghat; schedules and road conditions should be checked locally before relying on a same-day transfer.
