Doleshwar Mahadev Temple is a Hindu Shiva shrine in the Bhaktapur area of the Kathmandu Valley. Local tradition associates Doleshwar with Kedarnath: devotees commonly describe Doleshwar as the head aspect of Lord Kedarnath, while Kedarnath in India is associated with the body. Nepal Tourism Board describes the temple as a pilgrimage destination for Shiva devotees and notes that the connection with Kedarnath was formally declared by the Kedarnath head priest in 2009.
The temple is built in pagoda style and contains a Shiva linga. Rituals and offerings such as milk and bel leaves are part of local worship practice. Doleshwar can be combined with other eastern Kathmandu Valley Shiva sites such as Ashapuri Mahadev and Sanga, but travelers should verify current road conditions and temple timings locally.
