Overview

Ten days is enough to experience Nepal's highlights: ancient cities, Himalayan views, a trek, and a jungle safari. This itinerary balances adventure and culture without rushing.

Days 1–3: Kathmandu Valley

Day 1: Arrive & Explore Thamel

Settle in, recover from the flight, wander Thamel's narrow streets. Visit Swayambhunath for sunset views over the valley.

Day 2: Patan & Bhaktapur

Spend the morning in Patan — the finest Newar architecture in the valley. Afternoon in Bhaktapur — potter's square, Nyatapola temple, juju dhau (king curd).

Day 3: Pashupatinath & Boudhanath

Morning at Pashupatinath — Nepal's holiest Hindu temple. Afternoon circling the massive stupa at Boudhanath — the heart of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal.

Days 4–5: Pokhara

Day 4: Fly or drive to Pokhara

A 25-minute flight or 7-hour drive brings you to Nepal's adventure capital on the shores of Phewa Lake. Afternoon at lakeside.

Day 5: Sarangkot sunrise & activities

Wake before dawn for the sunrise view from Sarangkot — the entire Annapurna range lights up in gold. Afternoon: paragliding, boating, or visit the International Mountain Museum.

Days 6–8: Poon Hill Trek

A short, accessible trek with incredible views — no camping required.

Day 6: Drive to Nayapul, trek to Tikhedhunga

The trek begins! Follow the Modi Khola river through rice paddies and villages.

Day 7: Trek to Ghorepani

The big climb day. Ascend through rhododendron forests (spectacular in spring) to Ghorepani at 2,860m.

Day 8: Poon Hill sunrise, trek to Nayapul, drive to Pokhara

Pre-dawn start to reach Poon Hill (3,210m) for sunrise. Panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre. Descend and drive back to Pokhara.

Days 9–10: Chitwan

Day 9: Drive to Chitwan, jungle activities

Drive south to Chitwan National Park. Afternoon canoe ride and nature walk. Look for one-horned rhinos, crocodiles, and over 500 bird species.

Day 10: Safari & departure

Morning jeep safari for the best wildlife sightings. Transfer to Bharatpur airport for your flight back to Kathmandu, or drive directly.
